Not related to driving at all, but on Friday I finally got hold of the digital camera I'd ordered a month ago. I love the old Ricoh KR10-X but technology changes and the Donington trip with two friends holding digital cameras convinced me it was time I made that switch myself. For me the critical factor is being able to see what you've got (at least broadly) and decide immediately if you want to keep it. Not wanting to do things by halves, I ordered a Canon EOS D60. It's a full SLR, 6.3 Mp monster. It's capable of shooting at 1/4000 of a second, four times faster than the Ricoh. It'll autofocus which I think I'll find invaluable; after all, quite a lot of the photos I take are of objects moving at 70mph+ where I have to pan the camera. And I only have to keep the shots I like which is priceless. I can take the shot, decide whether I like it, what I like/don't like about the photo and take a better one. And because there's zero processing cost until I decide I need a hard copy, I can take as many pictures as I can fit on the card.

The 400mm lens should also mean I can pick up great detail at Donington from- oh, about Nottingham.

This site won't allow me to host images (at least not without paying a subscription), so you won't see any here. If I ever do get a site organised, I'll make sure it's linked on the left.
